BBC TV's Valentine Warner Visits Grosvenor

Staff at Grosvenor Garden Centre welcomed star of BBC TV’s ‘What to Eat Now’ series, Valentine Warner, to the garden centre last Friday (14th August).

Visiting Grosvenor’s popular Farmers’ Market, Valentine was highly impressed with the range of stalls and produce available – all grown, reared and produced locally.  Taking time to meet the producers and sampling the goods on offer, Valentine then embarked on a question and answer session with Grosvenor customers and signed copies of his latest book, ‘What to Eat Now - More Please!’.

“It was fantastic to see so many stallholders who are passionate about their produce at Grosvenor’s Farmers’ Market,” stated Valentine Warner.

“I was surprised and delighted at the scale of the offering – from cakes and pies and the most delicious cheeses, not to mention meats, vegetables and tasty cider.  Wow!” Valentine continued.

Valentine’s interest in seasonal foods made Grosvenor an ideal place to visit as Grosvenor sources produce from as local to the centre as possible – in fact, more than 65% of food suppliers are based within an hour of the centre so the majority of ingredients used in Grosvenor’s Café menu and ranges in the food department are locally produced and supported by an excellent provenance.

“We were delighted to welcome Valentine to our busy Farmers’ Market last Friday and thrilled with the response from so many visitors to the centre.  The question and answer session was varied and interesting and Valentine was certainly a very popular visitor and a pleasure to meet,” commented Iain Wylie, managing director.
