Here on the outskirts of Chester, our food department is bursting with fresh, local produce from the area all year round - with seasonal fruits and vegetables from Cheshire and Lancashire, organic and fair-trade ranges all sourced from local suppliers wherever possible. In fact, we are proud that more than half of our suppliers are artisan producers located within 20 miles of the garden centre in Chester, North Wales and the North West.

Eaton Lane is a small, family run company based in Davenham, near Northwich – only 20 miles from the Garden Centre! Like us, Eaton Lane share our ethos of sourcing ingredients from only excellent butchers and farms and of course, from as local as possible.
Therefore, all the meat used in Eaton Lane’s delicious range of handcooked meals is sourced from Littler’s butchers in Northwich – a century old butchery who, to this day, continue to adopt traditional butchery techniques. In turn, Littler’s are proud to support small farms with a conscience.
All their pork, for example, comes from Anna’s Happy Trotters in Yorkshire who offer a fantastic choice of free range pigs.
Littler’s also choose all their beef and lamb from Lostock, near Northwich and John Gates’ farm. All John’s cattle and sheep graze on rolling parkland at Tabley House – so they really are Cheshire born and bred!
Local Ales...
We can now offer a great new selection of local ales, ciders and liqueurs and are on the lookout for more new additions so why not tell us your favourite local beer and we will try to source it for you!

With many award-winning ranges, choose from everyday items including bread, organic & free range eggs, farm butter, pates and cheeses, pasta and ready made meals to jams, chutneys, pickles and sauces, not to mention luxurious treats including cakes made in our Cafe bakery and available here in the food department for you to buy to take home!
Eaton Venison...
Eaton Estate is the source of our tender venison - available in the food department when in season. Try it between September and January for the ultimate taste and flavour. With honey, apple and pear juice all available here from Eaton Estate too, we can also offer Grosvenor presentation gift sets including three varieties of honey and olive oil - all made at La Garganta, part of the Grosvenor estate.
Our food department focuses on naturally made products and following customer comments and requests, we have been out and about sourcing products suitable for special dietary requirements. New ranges have recently arrived which include low fat foods, sugar free biscuits suitable for diabetics and gluten-free savoury, sweet biscuits and cakes, with some varieties dairy and wheat free too. We also have crispbreads made without fats or additives or any kind.

Food lovers, don’t miss our Farmers’ Market here every second Friday of the month!
