Impatiens Downy Mildew

Busy Lizzies are a favourite with lots of you but they have been blighted by a virulent form of Downy Mildew so we have decided not to sell them this year.

This fungal disease affects Impatiens wallerinana and cannot be treated as it is resistant to fungicides.

Downy Mildew is an airborne disease and the dormant spores can remain active in soil therefore, even if we supplied a healthy, non-diseased plants, we could not guarantee it would not later succumb.

Growers and suppliers are working together to try and find a solution to this problem and we will keep you updated with any developments.

Why not take the opportunity to try something new and different? Our plant canopy is brimming with beautiful bedding plants like Begonias and Petunias - just ask a member of staff for help.
