March Menu

You can find many of the ingredients and products used to produce our seasonal menu for sale in the food shop/department.  For your own source of seasonings why not grow your own fresh herbs?  Just ask a member of staff for help.

Seasonal Soups

Yellow split pea and ham hock soup
Traditional favourite, served with a crusty bread roll.

Cream of mushroom and tarragon soup (v)
Earthy mushroom and fresh tarragon flavours blended with fresh cream, served with a crusty bread roll.

Mains – served with seasonal vegetables and potatoes from the fields of Lancashire

Elwy Valley lamb hot pot
Slowly braised shoulder of lamb, with fresh rosemary and thyme, layers of sliced onions and Lancashire potatoes and carrots.

Classic steak and kidney pie
Hereford beef served in rich gravy flavoured with bay leaf and thyme, topped with a light and flaky puff pastry.

Spring chicken casserole
Slowly cooked leg of free range chicken with smoked bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and thyme; finished with a hint of cranberry sauce.

For little people - our menu includes

Spaghetti with beef bolognaise sauce and grated cheese.

Free range chicken pieces in fresh breadcrumbs served with seasonal vegetables and potatoes or a mixed leaf salad.

Grosvenor sausage and mash served with onion gravy.

We are also happy to offer half portions of our main meals menu for children.

Light bite savouries - baked here every day and served with a mixed leaf side salad

Stilton, caramelised onion, fresh spinach and roasted mushroom pasty.

Salmon tart - lightly smoked, salmon fillet baked with organic free range eggs, milk and seasoning in a short crust pastry case.

Spring onion, baked ham and cheese Quiche.

Goats cheese, beetroot, apple and walnut parcel, served with relish.

Gloucester old spot sausage savoury.

New for March

Hot puddings

English apple and pear crumble served with Cheshire Farm ice cream or fresh cream.

Hot chocolate brownie served with hot chocolate sauce.

And in our bakery…

Ginger and lemon sponge cake.

Classic raspberry jam Madeline.

Lemon slice.

Classic Empire biscuits.

Orange and poppy seed shortbread.

Gingerbread men.

Almond & cherry cookies.

Lancashire rhubarb tartlet and fresh whipped cream.

Coming soon in the bakery - Earl Grey afternoon tea loaf, Passion fruit custard slice, chocolate and macadamia nut squares and our very own designer cup cakes.
