The Best of British at Grosvenor
Fresh, seasonal, local and British is Grosvenor’s philosophy when it comes to sourcing ingredients for its Café and to celebrate British Food Fortnight from 19th September to 4th October, Grosvenor will be offering a special menu with some of the most popular British dishes – all made using the finest produce grown and reared within 25 miles of the centre.
From bangers and mash using the great British pork sausage and Roast Hereford beef with English mustard and Yorkshire pudding, Grosvenor’s Café has included dishes everyone loves. There will also be firm favourites including traditional steak and kidney pie and fish and chips using Pollock to conserve cod resources. With Bramley apple crumble, rhubarb pie or trifle to finish, British Food Fortnight is the perfect time to sample traditional foods and the finest ingredients.
Not only are local and seasonal fruit and vegetables beneficial to health, carbon footprint and food miles are reduced. Grosvenor’s sourcing policy in both its Café and food department works towards supporting local farmers and producers to bring you the finest foods. There will also be countless opportunities to sample popular foods ranges throughout the fortnight giving visitors the chance to meet some of the suppliers and taste their produce.
“Our focus on providing visitors with good quality, seasonal and local ingredients is well known and it is beneficial to both the national initiative behind British Food Fortnight and to our Café to raise awareness of the excellent produce available locally and from within Great Britain,” commented Dave Maguire, Café Manager.
“It is also vital to encourage children in particular to eat more fruit and vegetables and our mascot, GrosvenorMan, raises awareness with young visitors of the importance of growing and eating their five-a-day,” Dave continued.
